Implementation of Schedule 3 (SuDS) of FWMA
Defra have recently produced a statement (on LGA’s Flownet) stating they continue to work towards the aim of implementing Schedule 3 (SuDS) of the Flood and Water Management (2010) with effect from April 2014.
However, the process remains subject to Whitehall and Parliamentary approvals and until such time as they secure the require approvals they unfortunately cannot be more specific about timing. The statement suggests Defra will also be unlikely to provide a six month lead-in period for stakeholders.
Defra will be using flownet and circulating newsletters and notices. It’s likely that the next newsletter will set out the timetable in more detail in the meantime there Capacity Building Programme workshops (for local authorities only) covering the SAB process.
